As we’ve already described in a message, there are several things to consider when playing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. For example, the update restores various settings and re-installs already deleted default apps. However, many users do not see the list of (potential) problems at this point. As can be read from a post on the US portal Reddit, a user complains of computer crashes or a freezing of the system shortly after startup and logging on to Windows 10 with the Anniversary Update installed. The contribution is much appreciated by users with similar difficulties.

For some users, the Windows 10 system that was upgraded with the Anniversary Update does not last for half a minute. The user does not even have to start a certain program. It is enough to move the mouse pointer to the taskbar or the start button. As the author of the topic reported on Reddit, uninstalling various third-party programs did not succeed. Other tips are, for example, to reinstall Windows 10 again using Media Creation Tool or to make modifications to the registry. On Intel systems advise users to install the "Rapid Storage" driver.

The tips may help individual users, but do not seem to offer a large-scale problem solution. The problem is not due to software from different vendors or hardware. Those affected report that Windows 10 has problems with both SSDs and HDDs, regardless of whether they are on desktop systems or on laptops.

We have not been able to observe a corresponding behavior on different systems, both with SSDs / HDDs as well as with desktop computers and notebooks. The Reddit theme has so far come to almost 300 comments from other users. It remains to be seen whether this is a major and far-reaching problem. We contacted Microsoft and updated the article as soon as a statement is made.
Update from 09.08.2016: Meanwhile we have a response from Microsoft before. There are no surface problems with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Affected users should report their problem to Microsoft Support. Alternatively, a hotline is also available: 01806-672255.
