4K: Haswell motherboards from Gigabyte - Ultra-HD with four HD monitors

The new Z87X-D3H and GA-Z87X-OC motherboards from Gigabyte are equipped with the Intel chipset Z87 and designed for the Haswell processors available from the middle of the year. The board Z87X-D3H can address several graphics cards. Gigabyte has developed Intel’s Thunderbolt technology, which can normally only address two monitors, to its so-called “4K” HD solution.

This is the resolution of 3.840 x 2.160 pixels, which can be represented by the connection of four full-HD monitors. The HD graphics integrated into the CPU can provide this graphics performance. For the graphics chip to output it, two Thunderbold devices and a special bridge must be used.

The board GA-Z87X-OC is designed for overclocking and has various measuring points and change-over boards on board that work independently of special software. Both boards have two independent memories for the UEFI-BIOS and thus a kind of reserve bios. This occurs when the user has entered values that normally prevent a start. There are no announcements for boards and prices.
