This is clear: The HP Officejet 4622 e-All-in-One is not a "normal" model, but should have received its product designation for the discount sale. A press release or even test reports to this printer can be found. However, not only the photographs suggest that the Officejet 4620, which has been on the market for over a year, is identical. Differences are expected to be very small, for example, in the scope of software delivery. HP confirmed this from the experience, but unfortunately could not provide accurate information.


As we have now confirmed, the only difference between the HP Officejet 4622 and the HP Officejet 4620 is that no USB cable is included with the HP Officejet 4622 offered by Aldi.

However, one examining the Officejet 4620 series reveals that the printer has problems with the paper feed. The customer rating on Amazon is correspondingly differentiated. After all, nine out of 47 reviews are clearly negative because of the paper feed, whereas 24 give the full score and praise the easy installation. The very different valuation makes it possible to close higher tolerances in the production process when feeding paper.


On the positive side, you can always use the printer with four individually replaceable ink cartridges, which is not a matter of course in this price class. So you do not have to change all the colors because of a single empty ink chamber, but can individually replace the tanks individually. Optionally, the printer even takes the XL cartridges with more tank content, which can be printed significantly more cost-effectively. The set of cartridges with normal size is currently on the website of HP at almost 30 euros. In the case of XL inks, the original stock is priced at around 70 Euros, but the yield increases from 250 - 300 to 750 pages. The ink price per normal page is thus reduced from about 12 cents to 9 cents.

The printer can be connected either via USB 2.0 to the computer or via WLAN in the network. Then you can also print from mobile devices, since HP offers apps, with the help of which the printer itself can be directed to the document printing on the road. The HP Officejet 4622 e-All-in-One, which is available from March 14 at Aldi, is at a price of 100 euros in any case very cheap and was nowhere cheaper to find. Although lures attract traders with cheaper prices, but then add the shipping costs, one ends up at best at a tie. The same applies to the sister model HP Officejet 4620. If you buy the printer from Aldi, you should not allow too much time to install and a more extensive test: if the paper feed is difficult because of production tolerances, this can be quickly detected.
