Microsoft Edge: Windows 10 logo logo

At the developer conference Build 2017, Microsoft had revealed the final name of the Windows 10 browser Spartan: Edge. This is followed by the official logo released by Microsoft developer Aaron Gustafson on Twitter. The Redmonder, as already in our Windows 10 news of the build 2017 suspected, have retained the “E” in the logo. As with Internet Explorer, the user clicks on an icon with a small “e”.

Instead of a yellow ring placed diagonally offset above the letter, the upper arc was cut off from the "e" as well as lengthened and both new ends turn to the left in a pointed direction. The color of the letter was also changed, instead of light-the Microsoft designers chose dark blue. The flat design matches the spartan look of the browser that comes with Windows 10. Edge is the successor to Internet Explorer, Microsoft has already set the support for the old Internet browser.

At the developer conference of Microsoft also came more information about Edge. The new browser natively supports the controller of the Xbox and the Xbox One. This makes it possible to control games in the browser more easily, without having to resort to third-party drivers. At Build 2017, Microsoft demonstrated this with its own browser game, FlightAcade, a classic Microsoft Flight Simulator, which also responded to voice commands via Cortana.

Windows 10 is scheduled to appear this summer. The rumors speak of July, there is no certainty yet. Who wants to test the next Microsoft operating system already. With the Technical Preview it has the possibility to do so. Just read the linked guides and take a look at Windows 10. Edge is built into the current builds, just like Cortana.
