The Samsung Galaxy NX works as the first system camera with Android (4.2) as operating system and allows wireless image transmission via WLAN and mobile radio. This is intended to enable even more demanding photographers to access the spontaneous and mobile exchange of images such as smartphones. Networking with the Galaxy NX can be done via WLAN (Dual Wi-Fi module (IEEE 802.11 ab / g / n, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), 3G or LTE mobile networks.

The Galaxy NX does not come in modern compact design, but in the conservative housing, as one knows it from the NX20. Inside, however, current technology is similar to the Samsung NX300. A 20-megapixel CMOS sensor in the APS-C format with DRIMe IV image processor for improved color reproduction and noise behavior as well as a responsive sensor hybrid AF are used. The camera back is dominated by a 4.8 inch touchscreen LCD monitor. It shows the typical Android appearance. Via 3G, LTE or WLAN the photos can be published online directly on social networks like Facebook or photography platforms such as Instagram or Flickr. Like the NX300, the Galaxy NX can also connect directly to other WiFi Direct devices, such as TV sets. With a corresponding app on a smartphone or tablet PC, these can be used as a wireless camera remote control and as an external monitor.
There are currently 13 lenses available for the Samsung NX system. Image stabilization is objectively dependent. From August the Galaxy NX with 18-55-mm-Zoom for 1,500 euro on the market. The software "Kies" from Samsung and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is included in the package.
