RAW development in Lightroom 6: Raw data photos offer more possibilities to edit photos creatively.
Our RAW-Converter Test 2017 compares four programs, which make finished images in a time-efficient workflow from RAW photos: Adobe Lightroom 6, ACDSee Ultimate 9, Nikon Capture NX-D and Capture One Pro 9. It is about the lights and Shadow drawing, re-sharpening, de-noise, contrast optimization, adjustment of the brightness from the lights to the shadows, the trimming and the matching of the colors. However, complex montages remain the domain of pure image processing programs such as Photoshop, but they do not provide such a workflow.
ColorFoto has thoroughly examined the important representatives of the guild in the RAW-Converter test 2017. An older four-core laptop and a potent workstation were used as test equipment. In addition to the range of functions and handling, the response speed of the programs was also investigated. Also creating thumbnails is not just dependent on the performance of the hardware, but also on the programs themselves.
One thing in advance: the basic corrections for exposure and color work with all programs without problems and with few handgrips. This is especially true for restoring drawing in the lights and shadows. Only ACDSee does not quite return the structure in over-exposed clouds. There was a big difference in the response speed in the programs, which can be quite annoying when editing.
But now to the details: We devote ourselves to the following pages each one of the programs. On page 6, please read our final conclusion on the RAW-Converter Test 2017.
