This is how the covers with HDR and “Ultra-HD Premium” logo officially stand out: These first eight Ultra HD Blu-rays are available in the United States from April 7, 2017.
In April the final shot for the new, highly sought after Blu-ray by Heimkino fans is the end. The first eight Fox films have been available on Amazon since the beginning of the week. The Secret Service and Hitman: The Future of the Past, Kingsman - The Secret Service and Hitman: The Future of the Past, Agent 47. They will appear on 7th April, currently at a price of 32.99 euros.
This combo package includes the new Ultra HD Blu-ray (HDR), the conventional Blu-ray and the HD digital version Via ultraviolet service to mobile devices. This allows film fans to create a collection on the new format even without a new Ultra-HD Blu-ray player or 4K TV and enjoy the films for the time being in Full HD. For the other technical specifications on the discs, Fox currently does not provide any further information.
However, the film cover also includes the official "Ultra HD Premium" logo, which stands for the minimum requirements for HDR in terms of picture and sound quality, and corresponds to the technical requirements of new 4K TV models.
The Ultra-HD Blu-ray is not down-compatible, which means: Can not play with existing Blu-ray players. Samsung's first UHD Blu-ray player, the UBD-K8500, is still in March bundled with one of the Fox films on the market (about 400 euros). In all probability it is "The Marsian". The Panasonic DMP-UB900 (800 euro) is announced for April. Both manufacturers will be presenting the devices for the first time on their roadshows next week for the trade press.
