Innovations: Smarter window handle, touchpanel and heating app

Because they are based on a renewable resource, wood pellet ovens are an environmentally-friendly choice for heating in their own homes. With the new Primärofen ixpower (price: 9130 euros), wodtke goes one step further and also integrates smart technology. With the eReserve, there is a safety accumulator which can supply the house with heating energy for up to 24 hours in the event of a power failure. The functions can be operated via a touchpad on the heater, or via a solar-powered radio transmitter for the room / clock thermostat. A smartphone app is also planned. The Pellet Primaerofen will be available from June 2017.

Everything in the (window) handle

The American company Soda GmbH has succeeded a world-wide novelty: It has not only managed to integrate a complete alarm system in a window handle, but much more. In the first place, however, the handle is designed to protect against burglaries by throwing thieves into the flight with the sound module on the EnOcean base. At the same time, the device is still packed with additional sensors. Light, moisture and motion sensors, for example, can be found in the handle.

Heat by App

From May 2017 onwards it is to be available for a price between 149 and 179 euro, a center for the networking of the handle called Multibox is to be available soon.

When it comes to smart heating control, retrofitting solutions are a trend. With the heatapp! There will soon be an offer, which mainly addresses installers. The base station and radio thermostats remind us of known solutions. New is the integration of floor and room control. Even the flow temperature of the boiler can control the system. Starting in September, it will be available, a starter set with three thermostats will cost 789 euros, a set of five controllers will be available for 899 euros.
