Interview: Susanne Braun from HP the United States

Ink and Office – are not two terms that are excluded?

About the person

Susanne Braun: I would rather argue the opposite: ink and office are two terms that complement each other perfectly, because inkjet print solutions enable companies to produce high-quality prints and work efficiently, saving costs and time. This is the main reason for HP to steadily expand the inkjet portfolio. We are continually working on improving our solutions and are very satisfied with the development of the products and the area. It is important to us that the inkjet devices in the company can be integrated and administered in the same way as laser products in the network.

Why is ink so bad in office printing?

Susanne Braun: There are still many prejudices in the area of inkjet printing. Often you hear that ink is too expensive, it would smear and cartridges would have to be changed frequently. But it is precisely these points - at least for the HP product fleet - long a thing of the past. All of the above-mentioned concerns are easily solved. Inkjet solutions have become a true and GOOD alternative to laser printing products in office printing.

What are the benefits of ink against conventional laser printing?

Susanne Braun: Our inkjet devices have high cost advantages. They not only offer more economical prices at the time of purchase, but also have significantly lower printing and energy costs than color lasers. We are about 50% below the cost of laser equipment, which is among other things. To the patron technology.

In addition, the devices are more productive in terms of the printing speed and the side range of the consumables. Take our HP Officejet Pro X series, for example, that prints twice as fast as comparable laser products on the market at up to 70 pages per minute. The models have even set a Guinness World Record at this peak, which we are very proud of.

We can score points not only on the speed, but also on the cartridge range. With over 9,000 pages, we are significantly above the reach of laser competitors in the price range below € 1,000. The advantage for the customer: Consumption materials have to be exchanged much more rarely. In addition, our ink printing solutions are very environmentally friendly. We are constantly striving to improve the sustainability of our products. E.g. No other consumables have to be procured in our products, apart from the ink cartridges, in the printer's life cycle. Just last week, we were the first company to receive the Blue Angel according to the new RAL-UZ-171 criteria for our new Office Jet Pro X series.

In addition, inkjet products can be fully integrated into their respective IT environments, as they can be easily deployed into enterprise networks, making it easier for users to print with wireless Web connections, cloud services, and enterprise management solutions

It is also important to note that our inkjet printers enable documentary printouts, even PTS-certified, so that the laser devices are in no way inferior. We have developed fast-drying inks which, with their long-lasting pigments, ensure high-quality, high-quality prints and can therefore be used for the production of notarial and notarial documents.

Will ink replace the laser technology one day?

Susanne Braun: In the last few years, ink has grown strongly in the business environment and will continue to grow. Nevertheless, I see less of a repression than the search for the best solution for the specific customer requirements. And here we are well positioned with our broad portfolio and strong innovative strength.
