Communication by radio

A bit confusing: the components already included are already entered in the sensor list, although the user has to log on to the system once. At all, Lupus does everything to eliminate the typical weaknesses of radio retrofitting solutions: the system interface shows the state of the sensor batteries, as well as whether someone has made contact with the components. The alarm center has a supporting battery for eight hours - as long as it reports suspicious incidents. An Internet notification works only if the router and possibly the telephone system with emergency power.
Lupus also supplies the fixing material to the door sensor and motion sensor with: dowels and screws as well as double-sided adhesive tape. The door contacts consist of a plastic housing containing approximately 8 centimeters, which contains the electronics, and a magnet. The optional IP camera also works self-sufficient, so it does not necessarily rely on the XT1. The camera delivers up to 15 images per second with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. At 1280 x 1024 pixels it is 22 frames per second, from 1280 x 960 pixels 25 frames. In the typical scenarios, the level of detail should be a priority.
The HD-LE950B is an indoor camera, but Lupus also has weatherproof outdoor cameras. It can also store images on a microSD card, without any network connection. The manufacturer supplies a small tripod, which is also suitable as a wall mount. Unlike the sensors, the camera can not be fed with batteries - so it needs a connection to the power supply.
With 1.4 meters, the connection to the power supply was somewhat short. Your signals are passed on via network cable or WLAN. The latter, however, only in the 2.4 GHz band.
The camera is a soloist
If the HD-LE950B is only to be monitored, it can send its images to an FTP server, a NAS (Network Attached Storage) or an e-mail address at fixed intervals. If you want to use a Windows PC as a monitoring recorder, you will find the right software on the enclosed CD.
Unlike the XT1, the IP address of the HD-LE 950B is fixed and documented at the factory. However, Lupus also provides a Windows tool for this camera to find its IP address.
Server as archive
With the Firefox browser under Linux, the camera immediately transmitted its image, but in Windows Firefox reported an error. We could not integrate the camera image into the overview of the XT1 overlay under Linux or under Windows.
The optics of the HD-LE950B is quite wide-angle, so it illuminates a large area - so it is ideal for narrow spaces. Even in low light, it provides a good picture - but it is not a night vision device. In the event of an emergency, an additional light source can be used, which can then be switched by a radio plug - or an infrared model from the Lupus range.
The XT1 controls the user as described by browser or via apps for Android and iOS. Once set up, the system can be operated without any computer skills by any household member, including the aforementioned radio digit keypad. Alarms can also be triggered manually - whether older people can remember the respective combination of numbers in an emergency.
