IPad mini and iPad 4 trumps the battery against Android, Windows RT & Co.

The iPad mini and the iPad 4 have in the battery test of the technology blog “Which?” Against the competition with Android or Windows RT operating systems clearly dominated. In addition to the Apple tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, the Sony Xperia 2 Tablet S, the Microsoft Surface RT, the Google Nexus 10, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime and more were found in the 10-inch test field. They came up against the iPad with a retina display. The iPad 2 was there, too, and was able to hold its own against the competition, but it was clear against the successor, the clearer.


The iPad mini came on the other in the discipline of 7 inch tablets and claimed among other things against the Amazon Kindle Fire HD, the Nexus 7, the Kindle Fire and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. In addition, other, unnamed devices from different manufacturers came. The authors of the blog have unified the test procedure. Each tablet was placed via a meter to a display brightness of 200 candelas per square meter. Afterwards, the testers surfed via WLAN as well as by relevance via UMTS and watched videos on the tablets


The iPad 4 came at "Which?" On an accumulation time of 811 minutes. This is about 13.5 hours of operation with a battery charge. Behind it the iPad 2 positioned with 590, followed by the Xperia S with 534 minutes. Just behind it follows the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with 532 minutes, while the surface RT with 501 minutes almost the 500-er mark. The Nexus 10 comes with 488 counters in front of one of 16 devices combined Pulk of various average tablets with 451 minutes. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is the final light with 335 minutes.


The dominance of Apple's 10-inch range with the iPad 4 is repeated with the 7-inch devices with the iPad mini. The new Apple gadget scores 783 minutes (over 13 hours) in the "Which?" Test, while the second-place Amazon Kindle Fire HD only reaches 591 minutes. In this area comes also the Nexus 7 with 550 minutes on the counter. Ten average devices of this class arrive at 478 minutes before the Amazon Kindle Fire with 437 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 with 425 minutes.
