Windows 10: Microsoft introduces "Virtual Desktops" feature

A few months ahead of the upcoming Windows 10 release, Microsoft will provide the “Virtual Desktops”, which are available for users of the Technical Preview for a longer time. The feature, where the user can access and manage multiple instances of a desktop, is one of the most important innovations.

On the Microsoft blog, the company explains that this type of desktop use was already introduced in the 1980s and continues to gain popularity. For this reason, Microsoft decided to introduce the feature natively.


The focus of Microsoft is the development of the "Virtual Desktops" function in four different areas. With this feature, the company wants to achieve more desktop space as well as easy organization of groups.


It is also a key issue to quickly find and switch to windows and to control the degree of partitioning of grouped windows. New features will also be added to the release of Windows 10.
