Medion Life X44027 (MD 86827) at Aldi Nord in the offer

Already at the first glance it becomes clear: This Medion camera already existed at Aldi already at that time as a Medion Life X44088 (MD 86888) with more or less identical technical data and at a price of 149 euros. Now you can get the Medion Life X44027 from Monday, June 17, 2013, at the price of 129 euros.

Bargain Check: Conclusion

The digital camera has primarily a revised look: Instead of the 21x zoom, the Medion Life X44027 now has a 26x zoom with a focal range of 4-104 mm. This corresponds in color picture format to 22-580 mm. In the wide angle the optics reaches the light intensity F3,1 in the telephoto range it is then already at F5,9 - some light is needed, so you want to make beautiful pictures.

The Medion Life X44027 comes with a CCD image sensor with 16 megapixels - a clear concession to the price, because cameras with Superzoom usually work with CMOS sensors. There is an image stabilizer, which in this case does not work optically (as with the X44088), but mechanically. This means that the sensor is moved counter to movement.

How to find the right digital camera

For image control, it is still attached to the back of the Medion Life X44027 a 3 inch LCD with a nominal size of 460,000 pixels, which probably corresponds to 120,000 RGB pixels. Changes are available in the video mode: The more affordable and from Monday on offer X44027 dominates only the 720p-mode (1280 x 720 pixels) with 30 full-images.

On board are the usual motif programs (24 pieces), a flash and the obligatory USB connection. Supplied with a 4 gigabyte SDHC memory card.

The Medion X44027 at Aldi has become more favorable compared to the last offer and has received a higher zoom factor. It has lost two important characteristics: the optical image stabilizer and the full HD video mode. Exactly the latter was an argument for the Medion that is now missing.

Buying advice: The best compact cameras up to 200 euros

As an alternative you can see the test of the new Nikon Coolpix L820. The Samsung WB5500 is one of the last remaining Samsung WB5500 (test) - it has received a purchase tip, among other things because of the high zoom factor, the good setting options and good picture quality at ISO 100. It has become even more expensive now: 230 euros Then it can be the argument for the Medion Life X44027: it is a bargain for photographers who do not place too much emphasis on high image quality.
