IOS 8 makes problems with Whatsapp, iCloud, Dropbox and Carousel: Some apps seem to have problems with the new iOS 8 data backup. In general, the interaction with Apple’s new mobile operating system and cloud services does not seem to run smoothly. For example, the Tech blog recommends MacLife not to enable Apple’s own iCloud on iOS 8 for the time being.
Also interesting is
The popular Whatsapp Messenger version 2.11.11 can no longer perform chat backups under Apple's new iPhone operating system. Particularly irritating: the chat upload is carried out by means of the once defined backup schedule seemingly. The upload should be successful. It is however unclear whether the data is actually saved, because the button "Create backup now" is grayed out. If you want to make sure that the chats are preserved under iOS 8, you will only have the hard workaround to send the individual chats by e-mail.
Dropbox and Carousel also have compatibility issues when syncing under iOS 8. User photos can not be reliably loaded into the dropbox. Unlike with Whatsapp, however, does not seem to make the iCloud problems, but the sorting of the pictures in the photo apps. So the Dropbox blog recommends to turn off photo backup and Apple's iCloud "My Photostream". Obviously only the photos from the album "Last added" could be saved. However, not all photos were displayed. The Apple Store already offers new versions of Dropbox and Carousel, which should be updated before the iOS 8 install.
