Live TV streaming over the Fritzbox

Owners of a Fritzbox, which operate the router at a Telekom- or Vodafone- (V) DSL connection with IP-TV support, benefit from a function that the manufacturer AVM has long ago integrated: Live TV

To check whether your requirements are fulfilled, open a browser and call the configuration mask of the router via fritz.box. Enter the password and confirm with Login. In the top bar, the commands FRITZ! NAS and MyFRITZ! The entry Live TV. If you click on the entry, a new page will open, listing all receivable TV channels. With our Telekom-Entertain access, the 54 stations, including 19 stations, broadcast their programs in HD.


However, in order to play one of the streams on the computer, you need an additional software, such as the VLC Media Player. It also works on Android and iOS devices. Open the overview page download.avm.de/tv/tv1.html on your mobile device in the browser and tap one of the channel logos


Now the browser wants to know if the stream should be opened with a compatible app. Optimally suited because free and available for both Android and iOS is the VLC Player (VLC for Android / VLC for iOS)
