To properly recognize the SSD, the BIOS setting is critical before a new installation: The AHCI mode must have been activated in the BIOS.

Guide

If the operating system has already been installed, the BIOS entry may be made only after a corresponding change in the registry file, otherwise Windows 7 no longer starts.

Tip 1: Check running services

Via> Start> Search field input: msconfig> Services tab, you get a good overview of the running or non-running Windows services. However, an exact behavior of the service that goes beyond on-out can not be controlled with msconfig. More comprehensive, you can set the Windows services via> Start> Search field: services.

Who runs its operating system on an SSD, must consider which service it should generally and which it should only switch off individually. But it is also important to know whether you have an SSD in your system, as you would expect from many notebooks. Or if you run the SSD as a system hard drive in combination with HDDs in a PC.
