Metz Planea 32 in the test

Metz always stood out among the TV manufacturers by peculiarities. At that time, as with the Metz Planea 32, the remote control has, for example, a button that can be used by the user himself with up to ten functions, such as “Switch on radio”, “Call timer list” or “CEC device setup”. The Zirndorfer is the only one in the test that allows you to copy uncoded recordings from the PVR hard disk drive. This can be via a PC or the implanted file manager to another USB medium. Top: You can still switch within the transponder during recording.

Smart Upgrade

The engineers at Metz Planea 32 have also done a great deal of work: in addition to the improved response speed of the image menu, they completely redesigned the entry side. Details such as the full-text search in the EPG, the adjustable pre-and post-run time in the recorder menu, as well as the image options that can be individually set for each station round off the very good impression.

In the portal of the smart 32-inch user finds the user in contrast to the competition only freely usable media books such as Ampaya, Viewster or those of the public-law transmitters. VoD services like Netflix, Maxdome or Amazon are missing. After all, Metz has tackled the smart control. Via MecaRemote, the TV can be commanded and even send a message to the screen.

In addition, there are two other services that can be viewed through a browser: Foxxum, the third-party service provider, manages the apps and bookmarks of the free TV browser. The other service comes from Metz itself and serves the programming of the recorder remotely.

For a 32-inch model, the Metz Planea 32 offered a surprisingly powerful sound from four loudspeakers with two 16 watt music output: distortion-free music up to the maximum loudness. Only the bass lacked power. In the picture, the Metz Planea 32 scored with a great contrast and rich colors. 200Hz mecaVision in the setting "easily" erased unpleasant jerks from playing moving pictures. Its full-HD panel also offered a decent sharpness.
