Fujitsu Esprimo P956 E94 +: test and price-performance winner

The configuration of the 800 euro expensive Fujitsu Esprimo P956 E94 + resembles only at first sight the other three business PCs. Like three of four test participants, Fujitsu used an Intel Core i5-6500 with an integrated graphics core HD 530. The memory system consists of the M.2 SSD Samsung SSD PM871 (256 GB) and an 8 GB DDR4 memory module. However, the M.2-SSD response speed is only integrated via a SATA-III interface, which is just as fast as a conventional 2.5-inch SSD with an average read rate of 466.9 MB / s. An M.2 SSD with PCIe interface as in the Wortmann-PC is the Samsung SSD PM871 but completely understated. As Fujitsu uses only one of four memory slots, some performance is lost as well. A second memory module would have enabled the faster dual-channel memory operation.

In practice with Office software, however, this configuration error has only a marginal effect. The Fujitsu Esprimo P956 E94 + always fits perfectly in our performance tests. With 3.152 points in the application benchmark PCMark 8 it is about the same, high level as the three competitors. He finished the Cinebench R11.5 with a good 6.3 CPU points. The 806 points in the 3DMark FireStrike and 6,767 points in the Cloud Gate test show that the Fujitsu PC is suitable for a few relaxation sessions with less demanding games during the lunch break. A low-cost graphics card is hardly ever faster and is only worthwhile if you need an HDMI port.

He is missing the Esprimo. Instead, you can connect monitors to two DisplayPort outputs, a DVI and a VGA interface. In addition, with four USB 2.0 and six USB 3.0 ports, it provides enough connectivity for external devices such as the neat mouse keyboard set that comes with the device. The package also contains the installation DVDs for Windows 7 Professional and Windows 10 Pro as well as the associated media with drivers and system tools - exemplary. The same applies to the cleanly wired and service-friendly housing of the Fujitsu PC: expansion cards and drive are not screwed, but fixed with clamps. The Esprimo P956 E94 + was able to collect many points when measuring the power consumption. Under low load, our meter showed only 18.7 watts and under full load only 49 watts. This was a very good result, which made him equal in the overall evaluation with the second-placed Wortmann Terra PC.
