Star Wars: Battlefront in Test - Call of Duty Clone with atmosphere

Game Releases 5/5

Star Wars: Battlefront in the Test - Gameplay

After 10 years, Star Wars: Battlefront is a new offshoot of the shooter brand - reason enough for Electronic Arts to bring a remake of the popular game series to match the upcoming movie "The Force Awakens". How well the game is actually, read the following test.

Star Wars: Battlefront in the Test - Multiplayer

On a closer test of the single player mode we do not at this point. In Star Wars: Battlefront, there is virtually no. Some, few missions, which can be done alone or in co-op mode and in other games as an extended tutorial, do exist - but they do not bind us to the screen.

Star Wars: Battlefront in Test - Conclusion

Playfully, Star Wars: Battlefront stands out from the shooter mass. Instead, Unity is freely offered and even simplified even further after the presumptive models Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Although there are different blaster weapons with different strengths and weaknesses that can be used to deal with enemy troops, but all guns feel almost the same because of the lack of rebound animations.

Also very simple are extras and special equipment. While other games can still see powerful weapons as a reward for fulfilling challenges such as kill streaks, the player can get as powerful a vehicle as the AT-AT simply by picking up icons. This makes Star Wars: Battlefront an extremely easy to access game - but it looks different.

The features described above work wonderfully in multiplayer mode and provide a fluid, if not always fair, game experience. For example, Spawn points are unprotected and can be taken from certain places on the map under continuous fire, so the re-entry is extremely frustrating.

The total of twelve maps are very different from the simple and open snow deserts of Hoth to the jungle on Endor, but the prerequisites for the different game modes restrict the selection more or less strongly. For a mode, only four cards are available. This is actually not so bad, but the different game modes are usually quite similar. A corresponding restriction is therefore not always to be understood.

What Star Wars Battlefront misses in terms of gameplay, it comes back to the topic of atmosphere again: Who can bring with the names Endor and Hoth only a Wookie-like howls, is at Star Wars: Battlefront anyway wrong. The atmosphere that the game creates is, for fans of the franchise, the best ever of a licensing game ever: When Darth Vader's breathing mask sounds in the midst of crashing X-Wings, firing AT-ATs and blisters behind a player , This is an atmospheric masterpiece.

May the remake be with you: for fans easy shooter fare, which is designed for the Star Wars universe, Battlefront is an excellent atmospheric ballerspaß, which renounces complex tactics and invites to play for a few fast laps

This is also the weakness of the game: Outside of the Star Wars shell, there is a common shooter in the game, which gives a lot of potential through the lack of a campaign. It's the first time that Battlefront is a good time to go to movie start, thanks to the genius of the Star Wars universe.
