The JVC camcorder is more oriented to the look of a bridge camera than to the classic camcorder design. In fact, he offers extensive photo opportunities for a video camera. However, the concept is not so far-reaching that photographers are really getting used to the device – some of the important elements for photography are missing.
JVC GC PX 10: camcorder and camera
In one respect JVC photographers, however, are very much in favor: the trigger for photo shoots is positioned much more favorably than the one for videos. All in all, the controls are quite small: those who have large hands will be struggling to control them precisely.
JVC GC PX 10: Precise autofocus
Class: In addition to the reliable intelligent automatic system, which automatically selects the optimal image settings for each targeted subject, the JVC also offers extensive manual adjustment options, including the dial wheel positions A for time control and S for automatic iris and the completely manual setting M.
If you want to take the design of your videos into your own hand, will be pleased about these features, which are unfortunately no longer a matter of course for camcorders. The individual values are made using a tiny dial on the front of the lens. Alternatively, this wheel can also be used to adjust the display brightness.
A real lens ring does not have the JVC however - alternatively one can rely on the precise autofocus. The videos got very sharp and detailed. This can be due to the comparatively large image sensor in combination with the very high data rate. With 36 MBit per second, the JVC significantly exceeds the other test candidates. Not so convincing were the videos with weak motif lighting: the pictures were quite clear with uneven picture noise.
Great recordings are possible with the slow motion function. With up to 250 images per second interesting motion studies can be captured. The JVC can also shoot at speeds of up to 130 images at a stunning rate of 50 frames per second, with a resolution of 12 megapixels.
The display is pleasantly large with a diagonal of 7.6 centimeters and gives motifs bright and detailed. It is sensitive to touch and is therefore used to control many camcorder functions. For recording from very high or low positions, it can be pivoted upwards or downwards, it can not be moved on the side.
