Times change. And with them also changes some PC standard. IDE was replaced by SATA. A not always peaceful coexistence on the mainboard followed the total exile.
But what do PC hobbyists do with the old IDE hard disk on which maybe still important data are, if the CPU and mainboard have long since followed the IDE standard in the eternal hunting grounds? A new old "scrap-PC" screw together? There is a better solution from Pearl.
The IDE / SATA Universal Adapter on USB2.0 has an IDE port which can be used to connect the old IDE hard drives and can be easily read to any PC via a USB 2.0 cable if the file system is still correct . Of course the adapter also ensures adequate power supply via Molex connector.
And because the purchase of such an adapter because of a single HDD for most PC hobbyists probably hardly worthwhile, Perl also has a modern SATA connector installed, which is all current hard disks - whether 3.5 or 2.5 inch size - Connection granted.
The universal adapter IDE / SATA on USB2.0 can be found at www.pearl.de for the price of 19.90 Euro. More cheaply you can not connect your IDE hard drive.
