So the data comes to the TV

Each smart TV has a network connection. It is the fastest variant, the easiest to set up (if DHCP is working in the network) and provides the safest data connections. If you can not connect cables to the TV, you get to the router over two bridges (s.u.).

Network

Powerline adapters such as dLAN 500 AVmini from devolo use the power supply to transport data. One adapter comes by LAN to the TV, the other to the router.

Powerline

If you use WLAN at home, but only LAN on the TV, the WNCE2001 of Netgear is intended. He suggests the bridge between the techniques for under 50 euros elegantly.

WLAN Bridge

Only in the very expensive TV devices is integrated WLAN including antennas. Here the way to the domestic Funknetz is particularly easy, especially if router and TV device support WPS. Then the devices reveal their password at the push of a button and understand themselves as if by themselves.

Wireless LAN

As radio standards improve every few years, it is hardly possible that TVs with an integrated WLAN solution are perfectly integrated with new routers over the next ten years. Currently, WLAN-n with dual-band is the best technology, and some TVs offer this particularly fast and rich-range variant.

Almost every TV has USB sockets. And the idea of using the WLAN dongles known from the PC on the TV is convincing. Although a USB port is occupied and sometimes the sticks from the side, but so does not drive the TV price of the TV.

The manufacturer only needs to integrate sophisticated driver software. Therefore, only selected WLAN sticks, which do not have to buy directly from the TV manufacturer quite cheaply.
