HDR Projects Platinum by Franzis works only as a single application and does not provide an interface to Lightroom and Co., which makes the selection of pictures more complicated. This is annoying, especially when experimenting with the merge options, as the photos will always have to be searched and selected manually in the file system if they do not.

Experimentation is part of HDR Projects Platinum, because compared to the competition, the software offers significantly more configuration possibilities. After the image selection, the software not only asks for ghost image reduction and alignment: Users can also select the desired color space, white balance, noise reduction, and exposure optimization - but without preview.
Test results
In the test especially the selection of a large color space like ProPhoto RGB or WideGamut RGB led to exaggerated cold colors. A remedy here was the raising of the color temperature to 9000 Kelvin or more. After compilation, users end up in the next screen. HDR Projects Platin is the first HDR program to actively influence the composition of HDRs.
On the left, a palette includes the photos taken, including masks and controls, for their weighting. On the right, a total of seven HDR algorithms as well as other options are available. Here, only experimentation helps. In the test with heavily overexposed subpictures, however, only an update to the latest version of HDR Projects Platinum brought good results. If the exposure distribution still does not like, users with mask brushes can manually weight individual areas more or less strongly - great. Unfortunately there is an undo function here, which may be in the next version.
HDR Projects Platin can also intervene manually in the ghost image correction. In the test picture, however, no value all the ghost cars disappeared. The color palette switchbox is then used for tone mapping. Here, a total of 56 images are available in different categories for their own editing. Changes can be saved as own templates. On the right there are numerous effects, each with its own settings. The selected effects can be individually deactivated or adjusted.
