OS X El Capitan with better performance

Apple presented on the WWDC 2017 Mac OS X El Capitan. The successor of OS X Yosemite is now available to developers. Mac users can test El Capitan in July as part of a public beta program, and the final version will be available as a free update in the fall.


Better performance


The main focus of the update is an improvement in performance: from launching apps to accessing mail, OS X is to become faster and more responsive. Responsible for this is essentially the new graphics technology called Metal, which last year celebrated its premiere on iOS. With metal, the CPU load can be reduced by up to 70 percent according to the game developer Epic with graphics-intensive games. According to Apple, apps should start up to twice faster, PDFs should open 1.4 times faster.


User interface


Also the operation has revised Apple and Mission Control, the view, which shows all open windows, more clearly designed (see picture below). If the desktop is too crowded, a window can simply be dragged to the top of the screen and placed there in its own screen, Apple calls the "space", isolated. The Split View feature lets you place two full-screen apps next to each other.


Spotlight Search


Also the Spotlight called search wants to have improved Apple. It delivers results for even more web themes, including weather, stocks, sports, traffic, and web video. The Spotlight window can now be resized and moved anywhere on the desktop.


Note App


With the new Notes app, which also receives an update on iOS, photos, PDFs, videos and other data can be dragged into notes. In addition, the Notes app is integrated into other applications such as Safari or Maps on the Share menu. Other new features: Simple checklists can be created. ICloud keeps notes on all iCloud-enabled devices in sync.


Smaller improvements are also available with the Apple's own browser. Safari now has website pins to keep popular web pages open and active in the tab bar. Sounds from one of the many browser windows once again unintentionally music or the sound of a video, one does not have to search the miserable now more arduous. In the address field, the audio playback can simply be switched off via a new mute button.
