Flash Player: Adobe update for critical vulnerabilities

Adobe has released an update for vulnerable Flash version 21.0.0.197. Users who rely on the extension or do not want to uninstall it should update to version 21.0.0.213 as soon as possible. To do this, call the Adobe Flash shortcut in the Control Panel. The “Update” tab allows you to search for new versions that are installed automatically. Alternatively, go to the Adobe website to find the right Flash plugin for your browser and install it by hand.

Update from 08.04.2016

The Flash Player from Adobe needs an update: the company warns of a zero-day gap, which is available in version 21.0.0.197 and earlier, which is available for Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Chrome OS Code>

Original message from 07.04.2016

The vulnerability that Adobe has labeled "CVE-2016-1019" has apparently been actively used to force a crash of the Flash Player and possibly even control the attacked PC.

This probably happened with computers with the operating systems Windows 7 and XP, which had the flash version 20.0.0.306 or earlier installed. With the patch 21.0.0.182, the Flash player should no longer have the security gap.

Affected users can check which version is currently installed on the official Adobe Flash Player website. In the near future, Adobe plans to provide an update that will finally close the vulnerability.
