According to financial news service Bloomberg, Facebook will soon see webpages on TV. The clips should be up to 15 seconds long and very similar to a normal TV commercial. This is a comprehensible step, according to Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg, as Facebook counted primarily among the prime time between 88 and 100 million registered members in the USA.
The commercials are also very similar in the target group selection of normal television advertising. So far, advertisers can choose exactly who the advertising is to be delivered to social networks. The new clips are sorted by age and sex only. However, the same spot should not be shown to a member more than three times a day in the newsfeed.
The cost of a commercial is between 1 and 2.5 million dollars per day. This should be dependent on the range of online broadcasting. The clips start automatically as soon as they reach the field of view of the respective user. Click on the sound and the video will spread over the whole Facebook screen.
