The Maya AF with the ATI Radeon 9000 is worth the price: For 139 euros the customer even gets a lot of equipment: In addition to the software decoder PowerDVD, buyers receive the full game Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. And Lite versions of the titles ONI and 4×4 Evolution, as well as two adapters for plug-in connections. TV-Out, DVI-I and D-SUB-Jack are the standard for the Maya.
The Gigabyte card does not provide a brilliant video signal, but in this test, it is clear to the better - also. The flanks could still be steeper and the signal still somewhat quieter.
The Gigabyte card is not the top end of the performance spectrum. Among the tested models, it achieves the lowest score in the category 3D performance. This is however the combination Radeon 9000 Pro and only 64 MB of the Hynix DDR-RAM. The access time of 3.6 ns does not help.
It is therefore no longer suitable for operation in resolutions beyond the 1024 x 768 with TrueColor or even with anti-aliasing. For the casual player who appreciates good graphics, the card is sufficient.
