Gira's extensive alarm systems improve house security

Many components can be connected to the Gira alarm center by means of cables, such as door and window contacts, which are installed in well accessible areas in the basement, on balcony doors or on the ground floor. If the contact enters an open window or an open door, a signal is sent to the alarm center, which triggers the alarm. Other components are alarm motion detectors, external sensors with flash light or key switch to enable or disable the external alarm system.

Instead of a cable-connected system, a radio alarm system can sometimes be used. This can manage up to 50 funkmelders in eight groups, thus monitoring several floors, the garage and the garden hut separately. It has a battery and therefore works even in the event of a power failure.

The alarm system can be extended, among other things, by radio glass breakage detectors that react to the sound of refractive glass. With a reception radius of six meters, they are also suitable for monitoring large glass fronts. Door and window contacts alert when opening, and motion detectors attached to the ceiling monitor the interior.

In addition to external sensors with strobe light, Gira also offers a radio telephone dial-up device, which relays every alarm message to a 24-hour security service. It has emergency power packs as well as sabotage protection against violent housing opening. The entire alarm system can be switched on or off by means of a radio hand-held transmitter.
