VLC tip: Shoot screenshots of videos

Tip 1: Load the file in the VLC Load the desired file into the VLC, for example with Media / Open file. Click on the play button with the mouse pointer and drag it with the mouse button to the position you want to record. Select Video / Video Snapshot. Excursion: If you have activated the advanced control under View / Extended control, you can also click on the corresponding button. Tip 2: Determine the location of the snapshots VLC shows the location of the file in text form, as well as a thumbnail of the snapshot, very briefly and unfortunately not always correctly. Luckily, the snapshots are easy to find, with the current version starting with vlcsnap, followed by the date and, for example, vlcsnap-2012-03-19-10h58m25s230.png Alternatively, select the location for video snapshots under Extras / Settings in the Video area
