SLR camera, a few lenses and other accessories: We have tested six photo pockets for a small SLR kit.

Booq Phyton mirrorless: Chic and secure

With the gray Phyton mirrorless, a handy shoulder bag from Booq comes into play. It can collect points mainly through good usage comfort and a solid performance as regards shocks and scratches. From the outside, the Phyton is felled by a chic design of high-gloss Ballistic Nylon with a stable 1680D quality.

Conclusion

On the smooth material, water drains well. However, the Phyton is not watertight, a rain cover is missing, just like feet or a dampening protection from below. As an extrasystem in case of loss, the manufacturer offers to register the model by means of a serial number. In addition, the zipper of the camera can be secured with a small padlock.

Dörr Dakota Fototasche: Quadrat cheap

The softly padded camera roof with thick partition and the stable outer walls of the bag offer all-round protection against external effects. In the red double one well stabilizes a smaller SLR or mirrorless with additional lens or underneath. Alternatively, a compact SLR, but without additional space, could also have.

Conclusion

Behind it lies a small padded compartment, which offers storage space for an iPad mini. A mobile phone is stowed in a zippered compartment on the outside of the cover. Small parts such as memory cards or rechargeable batteries find themselves in two side pockets with integrated stretch inserts.

A special feature here is a sewed, detachable carabiner to secure a key. Practical usage comfort is also provided by the well-protected compartment for documents in the back. However, the Phyton has to be pleased with the wearer: there is only one non-padded shoulder strap and a similar traverse.

Stylish and high-quality case with well-thought-out storage space for small parts and accessories, well-secured camera case against shocks and scratches, but only moderate wearing comfort. However, extra wetness protection in the ground area and rain cover are missing.

The new Dakota model from Dörr, which is relatively inexpensive with 30 euros, is characterized by its angular design. The shoulder bag in the orange colored Kamerafach with six dividers offers plenty of space for a medium-sized SLR with a standard zoom and two other lenses up to 15 cm in length and a flash.

On camera and co. You get a quick zipper, the whole compartment at the pocket top. The only drawback: this is not protected and not sewn against splashing water. A raincape is just as little available. However, the water is excellently watered off by the robust, well-processed outer material.

The lid has to be folded away from the body, so that you have a very good overview of the complete compartment, even with the bag hanging. For small parts there is a pocket with slots for memory cards on the pocket front. There is no more storage space. The Dakota scores with stable, flexible, soft room dividers and a hard-bottom.

Thus the equipment itself overlaps falls of one and a half meters height. In addition, this provides from below a good wetness protection. The wearing comfort is so far in order, however, especially the very small shoulder piece of the belt as well as the carrying handle could tolerate more foam.

Attractive, robust shoulder bag with good padding and extra reinforced bottom. Offers lots of storage space in a clear Camerafach. Criticisms: few compartments for small parts, mediocre wear comfort, no rain cover. Preistipp!

In the Camouflage -Outfit, the combined shoulder / hip bag Crumpler Quick Escape 600 is used. The rounded bag fills right away through its robust workmanship and high-quality materials made of water-repellent Chicken Tex Supreme Nylon. The two-thirds zipper is additionally sewn against splashing water and offers a generous access to the spacious Kamerafach.

Crumpler Quick Escape 600: Robust Trendsetter

In it, you can comfortably mount a medium-sized SLR with a standard zoom, another lens up to a length of 17 cm and a flash. Small parts and memory cards stowed in a tray with mesh feeders. A thicker padding would be desirable, especially in the ground. There is also a lack of wet protection in this area. An integrated rain cover hides in the back of the bag.

It can be quickly covered, but it is a little too tight. The wear comfort is well solved, especially as the Crumpler can be used as a shoulder bag. A lap belt fixes on longer distances. Alternatively, the belt can also be used as a waist strap so that both hands are free to take pictures. In addition, there is a holder strap and a carrying handle, which is padded in the back. The bag is available in three other colors and sizes.

Conclusion

Stylish, combined hip and shoulder bag with beautiful room layout and high-quality interior and exterior materials. Versatile wearing comfort. However, the floor area should be more upholstered and better protected against moisture.

With the Protour 140 Hama offers a not very cheap, but allround successful specimen for the smaller SLR equipment with the most important accessories. The bag is thickly padded and additionally protected in the ground against shocks and shocks. A rubber coating on the outside ensures reliable wet protection from below. Only the dividers of the main compartment could tolerate more stability.

Access to camera and co. Is classic over the large cover with surrounding zipper underneath or over a separate fast access from above. The only one in the test field is equipped with a removable netbook sleeve and has straps to transport a tripod. The trolley strap is also an exception in this size category. Rugged materials, a rain cover and very comfortable carrying comfort make the Protour 140 all you would need from a photo bag for the small SLR equipment.

Comparatively expensive, but all-around beautiful photo bag with high usage comfort, good safety performance and great wearing quality. Includes quick access, organized place for small parts, tripod and trolley loop. Test winner.

The Fotonox 100 is a visually appealing bag with good usage comfort and fast access to camera and co. It is closed at the top with a flap, which has a zipper on both sides. The main compartment can be opened with one hand. Unfortunately the zippers are not protected against rain, nor are they sewn against splashing water, but there is a raincape.

In the two-part camera roof with soft room elements you store a medium-sized SLR with attached standard zoom and additional lens or flash. Especially the small removable memory card compartment in the lid. For further accessories, the Fotonox offers a sewn-in compartment and an organizer.

The upholstery of the room dividers and on the sides is fine, but would be better in the ground. Outside protects a rubber coating from dirt and moisture, which however can not convince. An acute stone is sufficient to perforate the layer. The Fotonox is carried by shoulder strap with a comfortable mesh shoulder pad. There is no carry handle.

Nice pocket with compartments for accessories and small parts. Quick access to camera and co., But only moderate wetness and comfort.

The Reno 22 is the cheapest and with 240 g the lightest bag in the test field. From the outside it does not look like a classic photo bag. A crosswise zipper at the top gives you quick access to the equipment. The closure is additionally sewn against splashing water.

The smooth nylon outer material does not look very sturdy and does not last long in a proper place. After all, a rain hood belongs to the equipment. For the sake of a low weight was saved around all around the padding. In the ground, this is clearly not enough. There is also a need to avoid a wet grip from the bottom or the control feet.

Inside you store a SLR with zoom and accessories. For small parts there is space in two larger stretch pockets outside. A flat tear-off slot on the front stows cards, filters and filter covers. It is also necessary to cut back on wearing comfort: the wide, adjustable belt has no padding element, and there is only a thin grip on the handle.

Extremely light-weight photo bag, perfect for a stroll through the city: Fits in any travel bag, acts like a traditional handbag, including raincape and quick access. In terms of safety and comfort, however, it offers little for outdoor demands.
