IPTV and the related triple play offerings are not just contractually for a mix of telephone, internet and television.
T-Home Entertain
As far as the terms of the contract are concerned, telephone and DSL connections are the main activity area for tiny footnotes. The reason: In the free telecommunications market, the former state telecoms fights with new vendors such as Vodafone, 1 & 1 or Alice fiercely around customers. The providers advertise here with declining prices, premiums and special campaigns for customers, but they secure their sales with long running times and other tricks.
Expensive and long term
IPTV from T-Home Entertain stands for television over the Internet line and thus for a contract with the Telekom. IPTV viewers are bound for two years and can not, in the meantime, either cancel the TV reception. Also the receiving device can not be freely chosen. The Telekom offers three different TV receivers for purchase or rent.
The rental rates between four and six euros are usually cheaper than the purchase price: the rent will be cheaper in the second, third and subsequent years. And anyway, a successor model comes as well.
Bottom line, the whole thing is expensive: 48.90 euro cost telephone, internet, television and receiver rent at least. HDTV is only available in areas with fast V-DSL supply - for a further 10 euros extra. Further horse foot: T-Home offers its own pay-TV channels, including live football league games.
The pay TV channel Sky but is not available. Finally, the contract should refuse to consent to the use of the customer data for information purposes by companies of the Telekom and co-operation partners.
IPTV from the Telekom is neither a cheap nor a particularly flexible pleasure.
2 years contract term, automatic renewal by 12 months each, IPTV only with telephone or DSL / telephone connection, HDTV only in connection areas with V-DSL possible, not the entire pay TV offer available from cable or satellite reception; Consent to the data transfer for promotional purposes
