Steam is the game platform of the developer and publisher Valve. The accompanying client celebrated 2004 with the first-person shooter Half-Life 2 Premiere. According to initial criticism about DRM worries, Steam today is not to be imagined. Valve paved the way away from the classic, physical game trade to digital buying. Other publishers are similar. Electronic Arts, for example, has been running on Origin since Battlefield 3. Ubisoft has UPlay and Blizzard maintains Battle.net.

You need a working e-mail address to login to Steam. Purchased games are available as downloads in your library. For games purchases, you can use, among other things, a Paypal account or your credit card information. However, use security features such as two-factor authentication to make your data and purchases more secure.
