IFA 2013: New UHD TVs at a glance

Prominent representative is the Philips brand. Here are the two UHD TVs 65 and 84 PFL 9708 (165 and 213 centimeters diagonal). Both models master not only the well-known wide Smart TV range, but also three-sided Ambilight. Despite the extras, the two underbid most of the Markenkonkurrenten. The models cost 5,200 as well as 15,500 euros and are already available.


Also Grundig plays with the reigen. The Fine Art FLX 9490 SL measures 65 inches, offers some smart features and presents itself elegantly in the full aluminum design. The UHD-Schönling is to cost only 4,000 euros according to Grundig-information. It is available in the first quarter of next year.


Chinese Hisense has already provided vortexes with the announcement of low UHD prices before the IFA. Thus, the 50-inch variant (127 centimeters) costs 2,000 euros, 58 inches (147 centimeters) 3,000 euros and the 84s 15,000 euros. With the 58-inch model, Hisense and Toshiba compete for the same price point. Important difference: These are 3D shutter models. Toshiba gives two shutter glasses, at Hisense one goes empty. What you have to look for the top UHD 110 XT 900 (279 centimeters), however, Hisense has not betrayed at the IFA. The same applies to the date of introduction. The other models are scheduled to open in September and October.


Changhong is on the train in November. With the DU-55 B 6,000, the prisspirale rotates downwards again. The 139-centimeter TV costs according to product manager with 2000 euro as much as the 50-inch competition of Landsmann Hisense. Further cheap models of other sizes are to follow in 2017.


TCL is applying under the brand name Thomson, known in Europe, for inclusion in the UHD clique. In October the 50 and 55 UW 9786 4K LEDTV will be launched. They cost 2,000 and 3,000 euros.


Finally, Haier has shown three UHD series at the IFA. More than one marketing activity, however, this was probably not the case - prices and introduction dates were not mentioned by the manufacturer.

What is common to all announcements: The UHD TVs are still with the HDMI inputs of the current version 1.4 to the world. However, the higher-frequency UHD TV or gaming playback with 50 and 60 hertz is possible only from version 2.0.
