TEST: Multifunction device Epson Stylus SX510W

Slots for current memory cards as well as a PictBridge interface for PC-independent photoprint are available. The printer prints with four single cartridges (black, yellow, cyan, magenta). The scanning function can be operated directly from the control panel on the printer, but also via the “Epson Scan” tool. The tool is also installed during setup. The copying functions can be controlled via the easy-to-use input field on the printer. The device does not provide a fax function. The printing quality is very good. There is a reddish stain in the case of photocopies. The scanning function (maximum A4 or LTR format) works very quickly and is equipped with many correction possibilities. The unit prints in the fastest mode about 20 pages per minute. Unfortunately the paper feed and feed on the test device was very loud.

Conclusion: The multifunction device from Epson is well suited to the diverse requirements in the home sector. However, the device might be quieter.
