Devolo and Netgear introduced new Powerline adapters at the IFA 2013. These are intended to bring a significant increase in performance through a third protective conductor. Above all, bad connections will benefit. The goal of both providers is to make the adapters more insensitive to interference. The protective conductors should avoid the frequent interference in the Internet transmission. Devolo’s devices automatically test the three available lines and use those with the best performance.
With the new adapters with protective cables, there will be a considerable increase in the rates, particularly in the lower data transfer areas. According to the manufacturers, this could be 30 to 50 percent more power. It also increases the range of adapters.
The Dlan 650 from Devolo is already in the middle of October in the trade and will have a Gigabit Ethernet connection. The price for one device is 70 euros - the set of two adapters will be available for about 130 euros. An adapter with 3 Gigabit Ethernet connections is expected to cost 10 - 20 euros. However, this will only be available in November 2013.
Netgear is still holding back with its statements about the new XABV6504 so far. It is only known that the products are still to appear on the market in autumn 2013.
