CES 2017: HP presents Mini-PC, Curved displays and more

Hewlett Packard is showing a new design HTPC and various monitors at the CES 2017 with the HP Pavilion Mini Desktop. These come alongside Curved displays with Ultra HD resolutions beyond 4K and partly even with a side ratio of 21: 9.

The Mini-PC is to address a new design concept to users who need a PC in the living room, but do not necessarily want to have the "old gray box" in the field of vision. The white case and the compact dimensions - the height is only 5.2 cm - as well as the low weight of 730 grams are intended to make the Mini PC in every living room a discreet, but still attractive player for media of all kinds.

Hewlett Packard installed hardware in the HP Pavilion Mini Desktop, designed to decode content in Ultra-HD format. An Intel Core i3 processor with integrated HD graphics is the basis with up to 8 GB of RAM and a hard disk up to 1 TB. The user connects up to two screens via HDMI and DisplayPort connection. The network connection is via LAN connection or WLAN. Bluetooth, a headphone output and four USB ports complete the connections. The energy consumption is moderate with 45 watts under load. Windows 8.1 is used as the operating system. The price: from 329 euros. Release is expected in February.

On monitors, HP presents a total of five devices: three flat 16: 9 screens and two curved displays. The three 4K displays HP Z27s and HP Z24s and the 5K display HP Z27q come with a flat screen. According to the designations they come in 24 or 27 inch format. The resolution at 4K is 3840 x 2160 pixels, at 5K it is 5120 x 2880.

If you like it more modern, you can use one of HP's new Curved Displays. Two product series are equipped with the curved screens: HP Envy 34c and HP EliteDisplay S270c. Unlike the previous devices, you can use built-in DTS speakers so you can use them as a multimedia gadget.

The first-mentioned display offers 34 inches in the diagonal and a side-to-side ratio of 21: 9, the resolution is 3540 x 1440 pixels. The EliteDisplay S270c comes with Full HD resolution and 27 inches. The 21: 9 screen will cost 999 euros and appear in April. The EliteDisplay 270c is now available for € 379.
