The DALI system with the simple name KubikFree is actually a one-box system for mono playback, which shines for 750 euros as an all-round sound with a variety of insert and playback possibilities. In the slim column, which is covered all around with a fabric cover, there are two additional power amps to drive an additional box called Xtra – the set becomes a full-fledged stereo system. There are four output stages, because this is done with the much more audiophilic full-scale concept, in which the low-frequency and high-frequency speakers are supplied by a separate amplifier unit.

In terms of variability, the DALI engineers have thought of every conceivable application: the Kubik-Set not only receives wireless music streams from the tablet, smartphone and Co. via Bluetooth, but can also be supplied digitally and loss-free via USB from a computer. It offers two analog inputs: one for the stereo system and one for external MP3 players. If the basspower is not enough, you can dock a subwoofer.
This could be recommended for real action-kino freaks because the bass of the DALI system with its closed volume is somewhat less powerful in favor of better bass quality and the possibility of placing the columns on the shelf or hanging on the wall >
However, this was not noticeable at all in the classic installation on the sideboard. On the contrary, the cubic set sounded amazingly dynamic, playful and transparent, and with its precise resolution and the amazingly natural sound could convince even more demanding music fans. From classic to solid rock - the DALI team shone with high resolution, homogeneity and spaciousness, and could replace a small, fine stereo system completely.
The Kubik-Set played as an extension of the TV sound a bit more discreetly, which in the face of very good textuality was very positive in the long run. Especially because the transparent presentation continued even at low levels. It was also possible to convince even brachial action films, if there was also some pressure and the sound image appeared rather flat than spatial.
