Canon 1st quarter 2012 - Better figures

This can be seen in the recently published annual report for the first quarter of the current financial year. Canon now expects sales of about 36 billion euros, instead of just 35 billion euros. The net profit is expected to rise by a good 16 per cent to approximately 2.7 billion euros, compared to the same period of the previous year.

The positive development in the consumer business segment is mainly reflected by reflex and high-quality compact cameras. Canon is particularly successful in highlighting the EOS 600D, EOS 60D and the EOS 5D Mark II. The EOS 5D Mark III, which was launched in March, also promises "robust growth" and increased sales. However, sales in the printer area were down in the quarterly report.
