Who actually says that you can not operate PC speakers on the flat TV and active Hi-Fi boxes on the PC? No one. But these two box genres bring exactly what is missing the good image: the good sound?
Modern flat-screen TVs and monitors are becoming more and more popular. This makes it not easier for the sound engineers to keep the sound of flat-screen TVs at an appropriate level. On the contrary: the less volume the built-in loudspeakers are available, the weaker the low-frequency transmission.
In addition, the current monitor look - that is the format-filling picture without a frame - prevents the loudspeakers from radiating directly towards the audience. Thus in many LCD TVs and Co. the sound transducers are installed backwards and radiate mostly to the side. A diffuse mid-range sound cloud is the result.
However, since almost every current TV and monitor has line or at least headphone outputs, the option is to plug active boxes. Here, the spectrum ranges from small plastic cans from the multimedia wholesale market to the active loudspeaker from the recording studio. There are no limits to the demands of the customers.
But be careful: you finally want to improve the sound of the television or monitor. A minimum of box volume and quality is a prerequisite for this. Whether you are ready to bring studio monitors to the local warehouse, which can clearly exceed the value of the TV, is up to everyone.
Only so much: with good active boxes from the professional warehouse you can save the hi-fi system - after all, today's TVs also offer inputs for iPod and Co., not to mention streaming musical content from the Internet
