Screenshot: Search my device

Basically only devices can be found on which the function “search my device” (laptops and large tablets) or “find my mobile phone” (smartphones) was already switched on before the loss. This is how you find this setting: On laptops and tablets with Windows 10, open the settings, for example, via the gear icon in the Start menu. Then click on “Update and Security”. In the left column, click “Search My Device” below the “Activation” item, then click “Change”. When activating the function, the following problems may occur: – The function can not be switched on. Under “Settings \ Privacy \ Position”, check whether the position detection and the position service are switched on. – If the “Find my device” entry is missing, first install all Windows updates via “Settings \ Update and Security \ Windows Update \ Check for Updates”. If the function is still missing, then Windows 10 has not recognized your PC as a mobile device and you can not use it.
