DIGIBIT PL 500 & PW 500: Powerline adapter from Telestar

If the WLAN connection reaches its limits because of too thick walls or too long distances, Powerline can help out. Here, all types of data are distributed over the home or residential power grid. For example, videos, music and photos will find their way from the PC to the TV. This also allows you to access the Internet without extensive installation work. The Telestar Powerline solution is designed to deliver data at speeds up to 500 megabits per second.

The DIGIBIT PL 500 is a pure wire-based solution. An adapter of the model series feeds the respective data into the power supply and can be placed, for example, directly at the router. The two are connected using a standard Ethernet cable. The data from the Internet then migrate from there through the power supply to further adapters, which are likewise connected by Ethernet with the terminals such as computer or television. This means that communication is already established, and data transport is possible.

The adapter DIGIBIT PW 500 supplements the pure wire-based connection with WLAN functionality. The data is also supplied via the power supply to the socket into which the adapter has been plugged. From there, however, the route continues wireless, since the DIGIBIT PW 500 can pass the data via WLAN technology and thus can also supply mobile devices such as tablet PCs or smartphones.

Sat to IP: Satellite television over the network

The adapters are available from May. The DIGIBIT PL 500 costs around 80 euros per piece, the DIGIBIT PW 500 is available for 110 euros.
