Abelssoft StartUp Star 2017 in the test

Ablessoft Startup Star 2017.

Conclusion

StartupStar displays the Autostart entries of Windows as well as the programs loaded via the Registry and the Task Scheduler in a list. It tells you where to start the software, where your EXE file is, whether a program is run, delayed, or not running at all, whether it is started only for the current or all users, and how others evaluated the software Code>

The display of whether a program is currently running is unfortunately not always correct, which explains the documentation with the characteristics of some Windows applications - then one could omit this function however also. You can change these settings via drop-down menus. This is also the main distinction feature against Windows Task Manager, which otherwise displays the same list, albeit with fewer details. There is also a firewall that prevents unintended autostart entries and a backup function that restores old settings.

StartupStar provides more features than the task manager, but is less detailed than authoring by Sysinternals. The tool is certainly not a must, rather a Nice to Have.
