Windows 10: Control of updates only from Pro version

Windows 10 Home will automatically get Windows updates. The latest features, such as problematic patches or new features, may not exist. This can be seen in an unofficial Windows 10 FAQ on the Microsoft website. These functions come only from the Pro version – and also there will be according to the FAQ only possible to delay certain Windows updates. Updates for the functionality of Windows 10 and the security features would still be played after so far undetermined time. Media report a deadline of up to a maximum of eight months, as can be read at golem.de

The greatest freedom in the Windows Update for Business would have isolated users of the "Windows 10 Enterprise" edition. However, the volume license must include the Microsoft service package "Long Term Servicing Branch". As the Microsoft Web site with standard license keys (KMS Client Setup Keys) for Enterprise Edition users, there will be a separate Windows version for this. The so-called "Windows 10 Enterprise 2017 LTSB" will offer the possibility to exclude new Windows features from the Windows Update. However, security updates would be implemented at the latest after the deadline.

The Microsoft website with standard license keys also confirms that Windows 10 will have so-called N-frames (not with media players) of Windows 10 - at least Windows 10 Pro. Such N-frames offer the user more freedom in choosing an alternative media player and software for managing media libraries.

For the release of Windows 10, most users will receive the home version on a voluntary basis. The compulsion to Windows updates is at least in security patches not so bad. The insider program usually ensures that updates are tested adequately. With new Windows features, however, some users might be out of date because of outdated hardware, and the corresponding downloads would be saved. This is probably no longer possible.
