Colorfoto.de Pentax K10D

The Pentax K10D is significantly wider and higher than the sister models K100D / K100Dsuper / K110D. The Pentax K10D signals semiprofessional requirements for 770 euros. There is also enough space for a pentaprism with an effective search magnification of 0.6, which corresponds to the higher standard of a Nikon D80 and D200. The Pentax has almost twice as much (710 g) as the Olympus E-410 (375 g) with its splash-proof housing made of polycarbonate including a stainless steel chassis.

The AF system, which is known from the sister models, operates with 11 measuring fields and 9 cross sensors. The choice is based on automatic field measurement, manual selection of the measuring field or spot measurement with the central AF field. The trip delay including the AF time reaches a decent value at 0.31 sec. A built-in image stabilizer promotes blur-free triggering.

The program dial on the left-hand side of the housing allows you to choose between full, program, time, and aperture control, supplemented by manual setting and B. The programmer operates as a "Pentax" typical "hyper program": the thumbwheel is automatically adjusted Right time. If you set the time with the wheel on the shutter, the appropriate aperture is selected. If you have become crazy, press the green button next to the shutter button to return to the time-diaphragm combination suggested by the camera. In contrast to K100D / K100D super / K110D have not been used on motif programs or "Scenes".

A special feature of the K10D is the built-in RAW converter for processing images on the memory card. When converting RAW data to JPEGs, a total of eight parameters can be affected: resolution, compression, white balance, sensitivity, color intensity, saturation, sharpness and contrast. The new images are stored as JPEGs on the memory card. The built-in digital filters can also be used to edit already recorded images.
