In the camera menu, two pages are reserved for the WLAN settings. There are the three key functions “Send to TV” and “Ctrl with Smartphone” for remote control of the camera.
To ensure that the smartphone is also equipped for the exchange with the Alpha, it needs the app Playmemories Mobile, which is available free of charge for Android version 2.3.3 (Google Play) and for iOS version 5.0 (App Store). In the test, the connection setup worked smoothly: simply select "Ctrl with Smartphone" in the camera menu, start the Playmemories mobile app on the smartphone and enter the password specified by the camera
Also the remote control of the camera with the smartphone worked with us right away. However, the app offers only two entries under "Camera settings", one for (de) activating the flash and one for the self-timer.
