The Spanish streaming service Wuaki.tv wants to expand into three new European countries this year. In France, the video-on-demand service is to be activated already in the summer. The start is planned for the United States and Italy at the end of the year. In total, Wuaki.tv is to be extended to eleven European countries by the end of 2017. In Spain, the service was launched in 2010, followed by Great Britain in 2013.
Wuaki.tv offers a wide selection of films and TV shows, both for renting and for sale. Users can view the content on a variety of devices including the Xbox game consoles, smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, and computers.
Wuaki.tv will compete with the American market. For the US streaming service Netflix has announced its appearance in the United States still for the year 2017. The established video-on-demand providers react differently to the growing competition. While Maxdome boss Andreas Heyden is looking forward to more competition, Watchever seems to be frightened by the competition: sales rumors are circulating through the video-on-demand service.
