Canon Pixma MX515 in the test

Via card slots for almost all variants of Sony memory sticks, SD and multimedia cards and the additional USB port, printouts can also be made without a PC or scans directly to a mobile storage medium. In the WLAN network, the MX515 supports Apple AirPrint – the direct printing of iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

The printer operates at high quality settings. For an A4 photo, the MX515 needs about five minutes, for a page with text and images for a minute. In addition, the cleaning processes annoy almost every print job. The print quality is good. With the photoprint the image could tolerate somewhat more brightness. This can be adjusted in the printer driver under "Options". The operation is self-explanatory.

A text recognition software is not included. The extendable sheet tray is quite short and the supply of a maximum of 100 sheets is just too little.
