A 3-inch touch screen with 346,666 RGB pixels is used to create the subject. Both monitors can be extended horizontally, tilted 45 ° downwards and 180 ° upwards and forwards, with Fujifilm with play and delete button. The live image of the X70 provides an exposure and sharpening depth view in addition to shooting info, histogram, grating and water weighing.
Operation
Both candidates do not have an electronic searcher. At the Fujifilm, however, it is possible to adapt an optical viewfinder (VF-X21, approx. 200 Euro) by means of a flash shoe. The built-in flash of the Canon must be brought out of the housing by sliding switch, which is more complicated than with the X70, where the flash sits firmly in the camera housing, but thus closer to the lens. Both cameras master flash exposure corrections, long-term synchronization and synchronization to the second curtain, but no manual flash control. The X70 is equipped with a TTL flash shoe, which is missing from the G7 X.
The Fujifilm X70 is based on the operating concept of the X-series with two adjustable wheels and one diaphragm ring. The many setting options clearly target ambitious users. In addition, there is a "car" lever for convenient change to full-car mode. At the top, two adjustment wheels for the exposure correction and the selection of the shutter speed are placed, with a mechanical minimum of 1 / 4,000 s being possible. With the electronic shutter, the exposure can even be shortened up to 1 / 32,000 s and almost silent. For Canon, from 1 / 2,000 s is the end.
The operation of the X70 is supplemented by a focus mode switch and a double lens ring. The focus ring can be used with various functions such as ISO, white balance or teleconverter. Behind it lies the mechanically ratcheting aperture ring. In recording modes such as single image, series or filter effects, you can conveniently access the "Drive" button on the front of the housing. In addition, there is an "Fn" key, a video key and a total of 7 freely assignable keys.
Compared to the Fujifilm X70, the operation of the G7 X II is very reduced. The menu is correspondingly tidy. There is a lens ring, which can be adjusted manually depending on the mode settings. The shifter is used to select whether the ring should be in a ratchet or liquid state, and thus be a little quieter. To set the exposure programs, the classic mode wheel is located in the upper right corner of the case. For the exposure correction is a separate knurled wheel, which sits directly underneath. The buttons of the directional rocker are double-seated, with a single "Func" button which is freely assignable, it is very spartan. To the right of it in an unusual place, but very easy to reach, is the Videostartknopf. An easy-to-use Quick menu has both cameras, and with Fujifilm, it is somewhat lush with 16 options.
