Part 7: Graphics cards: Pixelpicasso

The S-model features AOpen components, which should be particularly fast. So also the Aeolus Ti4200S, although the regular core clock of 250 MHz maintains, but the fast Samsung with 3.6 ns DDR RAM to 271 MHz drives. Although the advertising text speaks of 550 MHz, the logical frequency through the use of both signal edges does not correspond to the actual physical frequency.

Especially with very memory-intensive graphics operations, the Aeolus is benefiting from the lush memory size, it still reaches 13 fps at the Nature benchmark of the 3DMark2001SE at 1280 x 1024 pixels and fourfold full-scene anti-aliasing. In this class is unbeaten. For older titles that do not use the memory, the card is in the field of the remaining cards with GeForce4 Ti4200. Of the 219 euros for the card is a good part in the class for this class expensive DDR-RAM flow.

The software decoder WinDVD, E-Color and a video adapter are included in the software. The manual is limited to a folder. In addition, the Aeolus signal is not convincing over the VGA port.
