Native speakers of other languages use other keyboards to enter texts comfortably. If you write frequently foreign-language texts, you can also install and switch between them in Windows next to the American keyboard layout.

In the settings, the installed languages are displayed under Time and Language / Region and Language. Add additional languages and keyboard layouts. To use additional languages, you must download the corresponding language package and the General input package for the respective language. In addition to keyboard layout, a language also includes the Windows display language as well as date, time and number formats.
If you want to use a different language setting to work with a foreign language, you do not need to enter the settings. If more than one language is installed, a symbol appears in the info area of the tasklist, indicating the active language. Clicking on it will display a list where you can select the desired language.
Windows 10 appears in 111 languages, and Windows 8.1 supports 141 languages. In fact, however, the number is only a promotional number; no languages have been lost. On the contrary, Windows 10 added Burmese and Dzongkha, the official language in Bhutan, to the language list.
